Reese Witherspoon's acting career started to grow after she attended Stanford University. After a few early performances, she was cast in films like Pleasantville and Election. The role she played as Elle Woods on the blockbuster Legally Blonde marked a pivotal point in her professional life. Witherspoon was awarded the Academy Award in the year 2005 for her role in Walk the Line. Water for Elephants: This Means War & Wild, and for both, she was awarded an Oscar nomination. At the time, she was only 14 when she was offered the role of the main character on the film The Man in the Moon. Witherspoon during her initial years after graduating high school and considering the possibility of becoming a physician to support her parents, contemplated abandoning acting completely. But, in 1996, she took home the Catalonian International Film Festival for the best actress award through her role in Freeway. Following a break from college of an entire year, she studied English literature at Stanford University briefly before returning to her job. In the 2003 movie The Invisible Man she had her debut feature-length character. In the following years, she was a part of several television series, including House of Lies Whitney, Better Call Saul and The Invisible Man. Also, she was in the films The Dictator and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. She is a talented artist and painter in as well as a renowned actress.
